The correct way to adjust the BOV is through the internal spring only.
The kit includes light. medium and heavy springs.
All you have to do is replace your main charging tube with a new silicon unit. plug in the new boost/vacuum nipple. and connect your blow off valve.
The kit installs your new valve behind the drivers compartment access panel for easy access behind you.
The purpose of the BOV is not only to sound cool. but also to release the pressure that builds up on the charging side of the system.
With nowhere to go. the pressure can cause turbulence in the impeller. slowing down the turbine’s spool and leading to premature wear.
By installing the blow off valve. you can improve the pressurization response. extend the service life of the turbine. and of course. hear the cool whirl!
The kit is designed to connect to the compressor side of the turbocharger and the plastic inflatable tube of the intercooler.
This black silicone tube allows you to install our drain valve directly onto it. Its fluid design helps eliminate any turbulence.
For vacuum. we include a 2-piece billet port with an O-ring machined manifold that enters the X3
manifold and allows access to an ideal location for reference booster pressure gauge or relief valve.
If you want to properly reference the manifold boost/vacuum pressure. you need to go behind the throttle blades.
Fortunately. the CanAm left a good position to connect the channel and plumb to the plastic intake manifold after the throttle body and before the
cylinder head.
Fortunately. there is a plug that can be easily removed. and the port is well installedand tight in its place.
